West Bengal employees will receive arrears for 33 months — from January 1, 2024 to September 30, 2026. This is because the DA revision is effective retrospectively from January 2024.
The arrears will be paid along with the October 2026 salary after the official Government Order (GO) is issued.
Arrears are calculated using this formula:
Arrears = Basic Pay × (New DA% - Old DA%) × Months ÷ 100
For example, if your basic pay is ₹50,000 and DA increases from 18% to 38% for 33 months:
Arrears = 50,000 × 20 × 33 ÷ 100 = ₹3,20,000
On June 22, 2026, the West Bengal Finance Minister announced a 20% DA hike (from 18% to 38%) in the State Budget 2026-27, effective from October 1, 2026.
This is the biggest DA hike in West Bengal in recent years.
The arrears will be paid after the official Government Order (GO) is issued by WB Finance Department. This is expected by September-October 2026.
The exact payment date will be announced separately by the state government.
| Basic Pay | Old DA | New DA | Months | Total Arrears |
