📢 Budget 2026 Announcement

On June 22, 2026, the West Bengal Finance Minister announced a 20% DA hike in the State Budget 2026-27. The DA will increase from 18% to 38%, effective from October 1, 2026.

Arrears Period

Employees will receive arrears for 33 months — from January 1, 2024 to September 30, 2026. The arrears will be paid along with the October 2026 salary after the official Government Order (GO) is issued.

West Bengal DA is calculated as per the Revised Pay Structure 2009 (ROPA 2019). Unlike Central Government (which follows 7th CPC), WB has its own pay structure and DA revision schedule.

The 38% DA will be effective from October 1, 2026. The first salary with new DA will be paid in November 2026 (for October).

WB employees will receive arrears for 33 months — from January 2024 to September 2026.

No. West Bengal follows its own DA structure under ROPA 2019, while Central Government follows 7th CPC. Currently, Central DA is 60% while WB DA will be 38% from October 2026.

No. HRA increases only when DA crosses 50%. Since WB DA is 38% (below 50%), HRA rates will remain at current levels: X City 24%, Y City 16%, Z City 8%.

The arrears will be paid after the official Government Order (GO) is issued by WB Finance Department. This is expected by September-October 2026.

Yes. WB pensioners will receive 38% Dearness Relief (DR) from October 2026, same as employees. They will also get 33 months of pension arrears.
